Trauma Informed Leadership

Presented by Mollie Michelfelder, LISW

This is an overview of trauma informed care and the importance of trauma informed leadership. Key definitions will be provided, a historical perspective of the trauma informed care movement will be presented, and a discussion of the ways in which a trauma informed culture within the workplace is beneficial. The presentation will conclude with the provision of an extensive list of resources available.


Speaker

Mollie Michelfelder, LISW is a clinical social worker and the clinical manager of the Schuster Behavioral Health Center at MercyOne House of Mercy. She has more than twenty years of experience providing educational presentations on trauma and trauma informed care throughout the state of Iowa. She maintained a private practice for 10 years prior to her position with the House of Mercy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Trauma Informed Yoga. She feels most honored to provide direct services to trauma survivors and to provide trauma informed clinical supervision to new clinicians within the field.
