Leadership SIG


The purpose of the Leadership SIG is to explore new possibilities, share best practices, and build relationships in order to develop your leadership ability and develop leadership capacity in others.

The Leadership SIG meets the third Friday of each month from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. Meetings are held virtually via a Zoom meeting link

Meet our Leadership SIG Leaders

Aaron Barber

Aaron Barber is the current co-director of the ATD Central Iowa Leadership SIG. Aaron has been in the financial services industry for over 15 years with experience working in operations (previously holding a Series 6 license and a life insurance license) and now over a decade in Human Resources at Sammons Financial Group. His past roles included specializing in developing internal talent with a focus on culture, leadership, coaching, and employee development. Recently, his role has shifted and includes being a business partner consultant supporting corporate services, the life group, corporate markets, and the annuity business lines. Aaron holds a Communication/Business degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls and a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Iowa.  With over two decade experience coaching anything from three year old soccer to college baseball, he enjoys learning with and from those around him.



Tony Giudicessi

Tony Giudicessi serves as Co-Director of the ATD Central Iowa Leadership SIG and is the Senior Manager of Learning & Development at ITA Group in West Des Moines. He has over 20 years of experience in HR and Talent Development across professional services and retail settings. His areas of focus include talent development, leadership, and coaching based on behavioral competencies. Tony is certified as a Korn Ferry Leadership Architect® practitioner and holds a Business Administration degree from Drake University. Outside his professional role, he is an active volunteer in his community, including coaching and board service with the Waukee Athletic Club (WAC) and having previously served as President of the Waukee Community School District Foundation.
