How L&D can Improve Workplace Creativity and Innovation

Organizations large and small cannot survive in this economy without innovative thinking.  Employees need to demonstrate they can think creatively.  Everyone has the innate ability to be a creative thinker, they just need to exercise that muscle.  This workshop is designed to provide an overview of how individuals and teams can use innovative thinking to achieve goals and solve individual and workplace problems.

In this interactive workshop, you will get to identify your own innovation strengths and preferences and experience tools to help teams ideate.

Afternoon Session (1:00PM – 3:00PM)

Economical eLearning: Keeping it Cool and Quality on a Budget

The company wants you to keep costs down. You want to keep the eLearning interesting. You really can do both if you’re willing to be a little creative.    This session is filled with tips for instructional designers, eLearning developers, project managers of learning projects, and learning leaders wanting to save money and still produce attractive and effective eLearning. Participants will discover creative ways to incorporate custom video and audio for minimal cost; where to find top-of-the-line, freely available graphics and images, and the importance of keeping content to the essential and working with solid versus fluid content to reduce edit cycles. Most importantly, you’ll come away feeling confident in your competency to cut corners on cost without compromising quality. We will see some short examples and clips of eLearning to illustrate points.

Presenter Bio:

Renie McClay, MA, CPLP, has been a dynamic performance improvement professional for over 20 years. She has been successful in sales, management, and learning and performance roles at several Fortune 500 companies (Kraft, Pactiv, and Novartis). She is a Learning Project Manager at Caveo Learning. She is the author of Ten Steps to Successful Teams, The Art of Modern Sales Management, Fortify Your Sales Force: leading and training a strong team, Interactive and Engaging Training, 111 Ideas to Engage Global Audiences, The Essential Guide to Training Global Audiences. She regularly speaks at conferences like ATD’s International Conference and Expo and regional ATD Chapter conferences.

Renie is a certified online instructor and serves as Adjunct Professor for Roosevelt University and Concordia University, in classroom and online instruction. She facilitates for the American Management Association and is an honoree for the International Business Awards and The Stevie Awards for Women. Renie is a Certified Professional of Learning and Performance (CPLP) and has a Masters in Global Talent Development from DePaul University.
