Join us for our first informal networking event of 2014. Help us welcome new members, re-connect with your colleagues, and establish new connections. If you know someone who is interested in learning more about ASTD, bring them along! More information will be posted soon.

Join us for our first membership networking event of 2014. This event will provide both structured and unstructured networking opportunities and the opportunity to connect with your colleagues! We hope everyone will benefit from making at least one connection that could lead to a new idea for you to implement, or perhaps you’ll identify someone you want to meet for coffee to further discuss a common area of interest. The more people who attend, the more ideas we can generate! If you know anyone who is interested in learning more about ASTD, bring them along...non-members are welcome! Drinks will be on your own, but we’ll purchase some appetizers to share.

To best prepare for the structured networking, please give some thought to the following questions:

Of all of your areas of expertise, which are you most passionate about?
What is your area of specialty?
What is one topic you would like to learn more about this year?

The planned agenda for the evening is:

· 6:00-6:15 p.m. Gather/open networking
· 6:15-6:30 p.m. Quick Sound Bytes
· 6:30-7:00 p.m. Structured networking: Connecting the Dots
· 7:00-8:00 p.m. Open networking

We also invite you to contribute to a local charity (optional). If you have any of the following items to donate, please bring them along and we’ll happily drop them off at Dress for Success for you! Dress for Success Des Moines is looking for the following items:

Basic BLACK clothing (dated within last 3 years): NEW Black Trouser Socks; NEW Black Tights; Black Jackets; Black Pants! Gently used or new cosmetic bags, NEW make-up. The following items are a VALUED necessity (all clothing items should be dated within the last 3 years):

· size 0-6 (suits, blouses, skirts, dresses)
· size 14, 16+ blouses/camis
· size 18+ (pants, skirts and dresses are huge necessity)
· all black low-mid heel shoes suitable for an interview (size 9+ huge necessity)
