   Presenter: Rusty Shields

Rusty Shields, a native of rural Northeast Arkansas, graduated from Arkansas State University in 2008 with Bachelor of Music degrees in Choral Conducting, Education, and Vocal Performance. Rusty moved to Bloomington, Indiana in January 2009 to begin his graduate school program at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. After graduating in 2012 with Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Opera Performance, he began performing and conducting at various places around the world. In 2014, Rusty began working at Smithville Communications, a rural southern Indiana telecommunications company, as a Training Coordinator. Rusty is the owner and lead consultant of Develefy. A solutions-based learning & development company that is focused on people and their success. Rusty’s participant centered approach to facilitating engages learners to be active in every part of the content. His learners have said the following about his sessions: "I attended Rusty Shields' training and it was DYNAMIC! Very engaging and the material was presented in a way that was very applicable. Can't wait to attend another class of his in the future! Bravo Rusty!" and "Rusty's commitment to connecting with his audience is evident through thoughtful, interactive exercises and relevant, current material. Outside of being a Training Coordinator and speaking at conferences, Rusty is very passionate about many things including community involvement, singing, and dirt track racing! Rusty is a four-year member of ATD, and in his third year as a member of the ATD-Central Indiana Chapter where he currently serves as the VP of Programming.
