Sarah Ennis (M.A.T. Drake University) is an area training and culture consultant with 20 years of instructional design, training delivery, leadership development, and culture consulting experience. She has worked with organizations nationally and internationally to build and coach the skills they need to grow toward their goals.

Session Summary:

Connection, clarity and communication are more crucial than ever in organizations. Making sure this is happening, and creating a healthy, vibrant culture is an important focus for leaders and teams. Balanced and productive teams are healthier, less stressed, more resourceful, and more able to deliver results and exceptional experiences. Yet we inadvertently do things all of the time to get in the way of building this kind of culture! There are many things that happen on teams and in organizations that are seemingly invisible undercurrents. Many times these currents aren’t seen or are misdiagnosed. But they don’t have to be, and recognizing them can make all the difference.

Session Learning Objectives:

  • Build your own "invisible glasses" to see through the actual processes, needs and dynamics happening in a culture that are sometimes invisible
  • Communicate more effectively by re-framing words and actions to minimize the disconnect between what was intended and what was heard
  • Identify, in a good way, the hilariously human things we do that get in our own way. Discuss how to better attend to process hiccups, interpersonal issues, and communication blind spots to support your mission and culture.
  • Change and gain perspective using 5 key lenses when working with people to better support connection and clarity, even when they have diverse needs
